About us

Home for physical practices and artistic growth.

Our project

It all began with the idea of providing a bridge for young dancers fresh out of school to ease them into the professional dance world. FREEZONE is now a family of projects and a safe space for artist development, professional training, expression, freedom and personal growth.

Our mission is to empower young artists with the tools to realize their dreams, strengthen the dance industry as a career path, and make contemporary dance accessible to a broader audience.

It is a place of connection, developing autonomy and discovering yourself both as a person and as an artist. We encourage curiosity, openness and individuality while connecting to the body, to others and the world around us.

Coline Largeaud

Dance Captain & Rehearsal Director of FREEBODIES

My name is Coline Largeaud, I am French and I am 25 years old. I am a contemporary dancer, choreographer and teacher. In 2024 I joined the FreeBodies Junior Company, directed by Nadine Gerspacher.

During my three years of training in Barcelona, I began integrating theatre and physical theatre into my dance practice. My work is based on the development of highly precise characters, often caricatural and humorous, each with their own way of moving, breathing, thinking, speaking, and looking. Movement and dance emerge from the honesty and depth of these characters.

An important aspect of my work is the search for truth and for what each moment requires in order to create a genuine connection with the audience. My creations address social and political subjects.

In 1992, Robert joined the Geneva Ballet, where he danced for six years. From 1998, alongside teaching and studies in psychology, he continued an active performing career with projects including Sinopia Danse Ensemble, La Revue Genevoise and Königsfelden Tanzspiel. After 25 years on stage, he devoted himself fully to teaching in 2006. Today, based in Barcelona, he continues to share his passion for classical and contemporary dance while contributing to diverse artistic projects.

Vlad Ion

Contemporary Dance Teacher

Vlad began his journey in dance as a self-taught dancer, exploring different urban dance styles while complementing his training at Varium and FreeBodies in Barcelona.

He began his professional career as a performer in various companies, including those led by Nadine Gerspacher, Clémentine Télesfort & Lisard Tranis, and Los Informalls. Through these experiences, he developed an interest in creation, which led to different collaborations, such as Shalott, co-created with Guillem Batlle, and St Earnest, with Nadine Gerspacher. He is currently presenting Me Lo Hice Yo Mismo, his first solo creation.

Drawing on the tools acquired throughout his career and his desire to develop a practice aligned with his interests, he has also been shaping his work as a teacher, giving classes and workshops at various training centres and programmes, including Varium, FreeZone, Nunart, Area Dansa, B12, and FMR Arles.

Pepote Pedrosa Cavaller

Physiotherapist

I’ve been dancing since I was 8, and since then, dance has become a fundamental part of my life. My journey led me to pursue a dual degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and Physical Therapy, with the goal of bringing together two worlds that, for me, have always gone hand in hand: movement and caring for the body.

During my time in college, I was a member of the professional dance troupe at the INEFC in Lleida, where I discovered and explored styles such as breaking, popping, and contemporary dance.

After finishing my studies, I decided to focus my career on dance and specialize in the specific needs of dancers. To that end, I completed the Dance Physical Therapy program at the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Injuries in the Performing Arts (CPAE) in Barcelona, in addition to training in Functional Training with Qualis Motus.

My training as a dancer has also continued in Barcelona, where I’ve participated in various contemporary dance projects such as Varium Dansa (23/24), Freeroots (24/25), and the youth company Freebodies (25/26).

My work as a physical therapist focuses on manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, injury prevention, and rehabilitation, always with the goal of helping dancers train, improve, and enjoy dance with a body that’s ready for it.

Because taking care of your body is also part of dancing.
